For $799 and $1,199 (Founders Edition)   At an event on Monday in Cologne, Germany, just before Gamescom kicks off, Nvidia finally announced what we have all been eagerly anticipating—a new generation of consumer graphics cards based on its "monster" Turing architecture, with ray-tracing and deep learning capabilities. Specifically, Nvidia unveiled three new cards, the GeForce RTX 2070, GeForce RTX 2080, and yes, the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. This is the first time that Nvidia has announced a "Ti" variant simultaneously with a new architecture. Typically the Ti models come out several months after Nvidia fleshes out its product stack.   Cooler Master has announced its Wraith Ripper, the air cooler that AMD recommends for its latest Threadripper 2 processors. The cooler can dissipate up to 250 W of power and features programmable RGB lighting. Cooler Master’s Wraith Ripper cooling system for AMD’s Threadripper 2 processors has a dual tower heatsink featuring aluminum fins as well as seven heat pipes. The cooler is outfitted with a 120-mm MasterAir Pro Servo fan that can rotate at speeds up to 2750 RPM and create an airflow of 76.4 CFM. While the cooler is very powerful, it is also relatively compact and therefore does not cause compatibility issues with memory modules, unlike some other “mega coolers” for high-end CPUs. The company cites tariffs and the 'default of a large account' as the primary reasons.   CaseLabs is a US-based PC case manufacturer, known for quality products like the Magnum SMA8, unfortunately announced on social media that it is "closing permanently" and will not be able to fill all current orders. "We have been forced into bankruptcy and liquidation," CaseLabs said in a statement. "The tariffs have played a major role raising prices by almost 80 percent (partly due to associated shortages), which cut deeply into our margins. The default of a large account added greatly to the problem... We reached out for a possible deal that would allow us to continue on and persevere through these difficult times, but in the end, it didn’t happen."
